Job Description
Title: QA Engineer
Position Overview: Solstice is developing a web-based solar customer management platform. The platform will serve community solar developer’s customer-facing needs while also providing a channel for customers to learn about their community solar options, enroll, and engage with their solar garden.
We are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to work closely with the business to ensure our software meets business and customer end-user requirements. The ideal candidate will be involved in planning and implementing strategies for quality management and testing.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Work as part of a small Agile development team, leading developers in efforts to ensure software quality
- Provide testing leadership and guidance to developers during sprint
- Manually test features for quality and requirements throughout the sprint
- Triage and verify bug reports from customer facing employees
- Help developers track down bugs and identify root causes
- Collaborate with the lead developer, product manager, and other internal stakeholders to ensure feature plans and specifications are complete enough and testable
- Build test plans and help coordinate developer and internal stakeholder release testing
- Help coordinate and communicate release planning to ensure we deliver a product on time and according to specifications
- Help the team design and scale a QA process
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Attention to detail, creative, personable, enthusiastic, proactive, team-oriented
- Excellent communication skills
- Excited to work in a fast-paced, startup environment and amenable to the demands and
opportunities of a startup environment: commitment to deadlines, a ‘do what it takes’ approach, opportunities to learn new technologies, independence, and leadership opportunities
- Interest in renewables, cleantech, and/or sustainability
- Have a basic understanding of Unix/Linux and basic OS command operations
- Physically located and authorized to work in the US
Nice to Haves:
- Automated e2e or unit testing experience, or interest in learning
- Knowledge of SQL and scripting
- JavaScript experience
