Buzz Oates Construction is the construction services provider to the Buzz Oates 23 MSF office amp; industrial portfolio. Collectively Buzz Oates Construction has built over 75 MSF of space in seven decades and has continued to hold the highest standard of workmanship.

Work under the supervision of the Senior Controller to manage a team of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable staff. Oversee all daily and monthly AP/AR tasks, including maintaining department procedures and guidelines, reviewing data entry analytics and reports, setup and maintain vendor accounts, and reviewing and responding to inquiries and requests for reclassifications. Review and analyze financial statements, budgets, perform general bookkeeping, complex accounting activities and financial analysis.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review monthly workpapers and conduct reconciliations of GL accounts to subsidiary ledgers.
  • Review, prepare and maintain consolidated internal/external financial statements.
  • Assist in training accounting team members.
  • Assist with maintenance/setup of accounting database software, including property, commitment and bank account setup, GL accounts and account trees, and lease administration as needed.
  • Manage monthly bank reconciliation and management fee billing processes.
  • Assist with annual audit preparation and coordination.
  • Manage month-end close procedures and execution.
  • Respond to accounting inquiries through research and interpretation of financial information.
  • Year-end tax form (1099/1098) preparation for various business entities.
  • Assist in annual budget preparation with requested financial information and analysis.
  • Assist with development and implementation of accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes.
  • Assist with furthering miscellaneous accounting and organizational objectives by completing related assignments as needed.
  • Participate in continuing education opportunities: read professional publications; maintain personal networks; participate in professional organizations.


Requirements

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Superior Analytical and problem solving skills to review data and ensure proper accounting procedures have been followed.
  • Ability to work discretely with confidential information.
  • Ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees.
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles/internal controls and how to apply them.
  • Understanding of business entity types (Partnerships, Corporations, Joint Ventures, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of GAAP, SFAS Rules and Financial Statement Reporting.
  • Ability to work autonomously and independently while meeting deadlines through proper time-management.
  • Accurate use of grammar, spelling and punctuation in all communications.
  • Interpersonal communication skills to collaborate on assignments as needed.
  • Strict adherence to the attendance policy is required. Attendance and punctuality are an essential function to this position.
