We are currently looking for an Executive Recruiter with demonstrable experience in design hiring to join our team and help optimize our tremendous 2021 recruiting push.

What will you be doing?
  • Specializing in the recruitment of illustrators, motion designers, animators, product designers, and executive-level design candidates;
  • Operating as an authority on Surprise's style and aesthetics and effectively communicating this information to your team;
  • Leading a team of geographically diverse sourcers and recruiters to actively source qualified candidates using internet databases, social media, employee referrals, etc.;
  • Designing relevant tests and challenges specifically related to our product in order to qualify candidates a mission critical skill;
  • Reviewing and providing feedback for design-related tests and challenges (e.g.: portfolio review; review of artistic submissions, actionable advisement of design candidates);
  • Partnering with hiring teams and leaders to build effective sourcing, assessment, and closing strategies;
  • Managing expectations through a deep understanding of return on investment;
  • Building and maintaining a network of potential candidates through proactive market research and on-going relationship management;
  • Actively creating and implementing ideas and strategies related to recruitment that will contribute to the long-range growth of the company;
  • Fine-tuning our existing recruiting processes;
  • Participating in special projects/recruiting initiatives, including assessment of best practices in interviewing techniques, leveraging of internal sources of talent, and identification of top performers for senior-level openings.
What are we looking for?
  • 4+ years experience in a full lifecycle senior/lead recruiter role;
  • Ability to travel internationally up to 25% of time, and frequent domestic travel;
  • Experience recruiting design managers/directors (across all disciplines), UI/UX designers, design technologists, design researchers, and other creative job families;
  • Experience designing tests, challenges and qualifying tasks for candidates;
  • 4+ years of recruiting experience partnering strategically with Director and VP level hiring leaders;
  • 4+ years of recruiting experience sourcing/closing/negotiating senior level candidates;
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
What skills will come in handy?
  • Familiarity with design techniques and/or demonstrable design experience;
  • Experience working at rapidly growing tech startups or fast paced environments;
  • Ability to adapt quickly and deliver under pressure;
  • Experience recruiting and closing mid to high level design talent in competitive markets;
  • Strong commitment to continuous improvement;
  • Ability to proactively network and establish effective working relationships;
  • Strong communication, organizational and negotiation skills;
  • Ability to execute recruiting strategy, including employer promotion in the marketplace, candidate management, diversity sourcing, and interview process management;
  • Self-sufficient and able to work with little direct supervision;
  • Strong consulting skills and demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, as a team leader and member;
  • Possession of strong analytical skills with ability to create, measure, and scale the right workflow between candidates, hiring managers, and the recruiting team;
  • Experience recruiting in a highly competitive environment.
