Job Description
The ideal senior writer for iMore is someone with a distinct, definitive voice with a passion for all things Apple. The job of the senior writer is essential to furthering and evolving iMore’s authoritative editorial voice.
The perfect candidate has multiple years of experience creating high-quality editorial content, with at least a year focused about Apple, its devices, services, and other related subjects. You have a working knowledge of Apple’s major platforms, including iOS/iPadOS, macOS, and watchOS, while also preferably having experiences with the company’s smaller platforms and its service offerings. Most importantly, you’ll regularly use most of, if not all, of these platforms and products and know them intimately.
You must be able to work closely with the managing editor and your fellow writers to make sure that you’re producing the best content possible and contribute to overall site growth. You need to be able to accept constructive criticism when it is given, as well as follow instructions from editors to correct mistakes or adhere more closely to formatting guidelines. You’ll thrive in a goal-based environment. You’ll be independently driven to try new things and story ideas, where appropriate. And because iMore is a constantly-evolving organization, you need to be able to embrace change.
iMore is an entirely remote organization within Future PLC, and familiarity with remote work is a plus. You’ll need to be familiar with modern remote working tools, and you’ll need to be able to communicate effectively virtually.
Requirements
Key responsibilities:
- Create high-quality content about Apple products and services, and related subjects.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Apple ecosystem through various types of stories.
- Write timely, news-based features and op-eds around trending topics.
- Write reviews of new Apple devices and third-party accessories.
- Reach out to Apple and companies within Apple’s ecosystem to foster relationships.
