Job Description

Armstrong Flooring, Inc. has an opportunity for a Manufacturing Supervisor to be located in Lancaster, the Manufacturing Supervisor provides management, coordination, and continuous improvement of all aspects of the manufacturing process across multiple production areas.

Location: 1067 Dillerville Road, Lancaster, PA 17603
Production Supervisor Salary: $70,000 - $90,000, based on experience (Gr. 9/10)

Shift: 7pm-7am Monday through Thursday


How you’ll contribute to the team:

  • Design, coordinate, and administer processes to support and build a high-performing work team including coaching production employees in the use of Lean Manufacturing techniques including MDI, Kaizen, Visual Management, and effective root cause analysis.
  • Ensure that your team has proper qualifications, are properly trained, and motivated to work productively both as part of a team and individually.
  • Reviewing and manage production schedules daily, coordinate and assign hourly workers as required and in accordance with budgeted staffing numbers.
  • Measure line performance against targets and execute projects to eliminate the root cause of manufacturing problems.
  • Document notification requests in our ERP (SAP) and effectively partner with maintenance and engineering to improve equipment performance and reliability.
  • Champion and driving an effective safety process, including Risk Assessments, Gemba safety walks, JSAs, and successful 5S housekeeping levels.
  • Maintaining a high level of customer awareness throughout the value stream and focus on delivering material that meets established standards of quality.

Requirements

What you'll bring to the table:

  • Engineering degree, Business degree, or related field; Bachelor's
  • 5+ years of people management and leadership experience with demonstrated ability to effectively lead and motivate a diverse group of employees
  • Must be able to work rotating shifts with the flexibility to work other shifts and weekends when needed
  • Excellent working knowledge of safety and environmental practices and regulations, including OSHA compliance
  • Proficiency in using Excel as an analytical tool. Experience using Minitab is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing, communication, listening, negotiating, problem-solving and decision-making skills are required. Must demonstrate the ability to communicate at multiple levels of the organization
  • A thorough understanding of line design flow principles and mechanical theory, lean manufacturing, and the ability to troubleshoot processes and equipment is highly preferred
