avad3 is nine years old and located in Northwest Arkansas, which boasts a thriving economy of commerce, culture and education, all situated in the stunning natural setting of the Ozarks. We are a team that is passionate about production. The avad in avad3 comes from the Hebrew word for serve and we are here to serve one another.

From our founding, we have been serving organizations through production. In the years leading up to the pandemic, our primary business had grown to traveling nationally supporting events and conferences. During the pandemic, our clients needed us to pivot all resources towards virtual. Now that in-person events have started planning, we need to grow our in-person event team. That growth can’t happen without leadership.

We’re looking for someone to be our Director of Production. This is a person who will oversee the overall production operations for all of our active projects. They’ll manage a team of three event managers who lead their on-site crews at shows and shoots here in Northwest Arkansas and across the country. This position reports to our owner who entrusts each project to their leadership. Once a client signs, this Director assigns a Production Manager based on capacity and oversees it to completion. This is not a sales role, it is a role that keeps the promises made to our clients.

In this role you’ll be accountable for keeping the overall company project operations running smoothly. Your Production Managers will keep their projects on-time and on-budget. As a seasoned production person, your expertise and organization will communicate confidence to our team as they serve clients on shows and shoots.

We are looking for someone who has on-site crew experience running audio, video, lighting and event/video production, but who has applied those skills into making themselves a manager. After being a manager, they’re now ready to grow into a Director role, overseeing all operations of our production team.

You’ve done the work yourself, and you’ve managed others who have followed in your footsteps. Now, beyond managing projects with defined start/end dates, you’ll be overseeing the operations of our team beyond this week, month and quarter. This is for a person who is a systems builder. You’re not only professionally organized yourself, you manage others through building and maintaining systems that your people love to follow. Your goal is not how technical you can be, but rather, how simple and clear you can communicate and help your teammates communicate, so that information flows seamlessly across your desk. You are not the bottleneck, but rather, the leader who enables others to shine by setting them up to succeed, and then getting out of the way. You’ve been in production for a long time, you’re passionate about it, and beyond being in a tech seat yourself, it delights you to see someone else get to serve as you once did.

You’ll be watching the calendar and making recommendations regarding capacity. Your focus will be on watching the team work, and seeking out bottlenecks in the pursuit of clearly flowing communication. Rather than complicating things, you’ll relentlessly untangle the natural human tendency for things to become cumbersome overtime, all in the pursuit of efficiency.
