SmartNews is a leading mobile app of news aggregation services. We analyze millions of articles to deliver the most engaging information with high quality, in near-real-time fashion, to millions of users around the world. We use advanced marketing techniques to promote our product and are seeking capable software engineers with experiences in ads or marketing technology to help us build a world-class marketing platform, in order to scale our user growth to the next level.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable platforms for marketing technology under experienced engineers’ mentoring
- Optimizing contents, targetings, bidding algorithms to boost advertising performance among multiple advertising networks
- Identify bottlenecks and apply optimizations in complex distributed systems
- Collaborate cross-functionally with infra team tech-leads and product managers to communicate challenges and define milestones
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Ph.D., MS, or BS in computer science, electric engineering, mathematics or other quantitative fields
- Strong communication skills. Willingness to take advances from teammates. Responsive to questions and inquiries
- Strong ownership and responsibility. Be dedicated to jobs and passionate about solving challenging problems
- 2+ years of industrial experience are a plus or graduate from a top computer sciences program
- Expert coding abilities in one or more modern programming languages (e.g. Python, Golang, Java, C++)
- Experience solving complex problems in the backend environment
Preferred Requirements
- Proficient in coding skills in Python or Java
- Hands-on coding experience that delivers scalable and fault-tolerant components with test strategy in mind
- Experience with AWS, CircleCI, Github
- Experience with HIVE, Airflow or similar data tools
- Experience in the ads industry or marketing technology industry
- Experience with SEO, ad optimizations, featuring engineering, a/b testing
- Experience working with user growth and engagement related projects in large scale
- Strong interest in news media and our mission to deliver high-quality information to the world
