CMT is seeking an outstanding, senior software engineer to join the Risk amp; Insurance Analytics team in building technology to reliably collect and manage data from sensors on smartphones and connected devices in vehicles. In this role, you will partner with our data scientists to create production code resulting from various techniques and disciplines in machine learning, signal processing, statistics and robotics, ranging from probabilistic inference on mobile sensor data, data fusion between noisy sensors, time-series and/or geospatial analysis, image and video analysis using deep neural networks, risk modeling and classification of driving behavior, data visualization, and more.
Responsibilities
- Develop tools and high-quality software that allows our customers to assess risk, manage costs, and unleash new ways to leverage their data.
- Engineering management/process oversight of the team/mentoring junior data scientist
- Writing excellent, reliable code, documentation, testing and monitoring will impact the safety of the millions of drivers who use our products daily.
Requirements
- Bachelors of Science in Computer Science, Engineering or quantitative field
- 5+ years’ experience developing software in an agile business environment
- Strong, efficient Python programming skills
- Docker, AWS products, Bitbucket, Jira, pipenv experience
- Pandas and/or Numpy experience with moving data science code into a production
- Ability to Refactor code
- Very strong understanding of high-quality software design and disciplines
- Experience with full software lifecycle development (requirements, design, implement, test, deploy, monitor)
- Experience and enthusiasm to work in a multi-disciplinary environment
Nice to Have
- Familiarity in with one or more of: advanced statistics, machine learning, data mining
- Experience with modern/emerging scalable computing platforms and languages (e.g. Apache Spark)
- Design data pipelines and products for real world applications
- Test automation and continuous integration
