AOC Connect LLC is looking for an experienced Web Quality Assurance Analyst to be responsible for reviewing agency Internet and intranet websites and web-based applications, and published content to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Ensure new and modified web pages/sections and web-based applications and other content comply with:
- Section 508 / 504 and WCAG 2.0 requirements for accessibility
- Best practices in usability and information architecture
- Linking and redirect standards
- Security and redaction controls
- Privacy and information quality
- Assist design and development teams to draft, code, test, implement, and maintain new web pages and applications.
- Review content and design prototypes, for consistency in style, graphics, navigation, layout, and functionality.
- Collaborate with web team members on various aspects of project management including requirements, schedules, and deliverables.
- Research, evaluate, and report on new and emerging developments and trends in web design, application development, Section 508 / 504, WCAG 2.0, and W3C standards.
- Broadcast syndicated e-mail alerts and maintain subject matter expertise regarding distribution systems.
- Test development and production web pages and applications using technologies such as HTML, CSS, PDF, XHTML, dynamic HTML (JavaScript), ASP, JSP, and PHP in a multi-browser, multi-operating system, and multi-device environment.
- Recommend content edits to comply with plain writing standards.
- Recommend policies, practices, and procedures to enhance web team performance and improve user satisfaction.
- Prepare and edit technical documentation including: web content posting guidelines, quality assurance checklists, user manuals, job aids, FAQs, policies, procedures, guidance, and other technical information as requested.
- Prepare other written documentation as requested.
- Effectively communicate orally and in writing when presenting ideas and recommendations to a wide range of audiences, including technical and non-technical, junior, and senior staff.
- Comply with best practices for plain writing when creating, organizing, and editing content.
- Support and assist government and contract staff including: web content analysts, web designers, web software developers, web quality assurance analysts, managers and other web support staff when requested.
Requirements
- 7 years of experience in related work
- Bachelors Degree required with additional training
- Masters Degree preferred
- Good understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle, Web Development practices and general knowledge of web technologies
- Familiar with using Drupal and Web Content Management Systems
