Your primary focus will be on developing and implementing user interface components across our platform used by teachers and students. You will ensure that these components and the overall application are robust and easy to maintain. You will coordinate with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure. Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and quality product is important.
Preference will be given to candidates that work in the Pacific time zone, and Oregon in particular.
You must be located within the United States.

Requirements
Really important:
- Willing to ask questions to clarify requirements
- Thorough understanding of React.js and/or Angular
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript
- Excellent with CSS3
- Familiarity with code versioning tools (Git)
- Have developed on Safari for iPad
- UI Design skills
- Figma expertise
Bonus points if you:
- Have worked in a startup environment before
- Know Django / python
- Have worked with websockets and serverless platforms (Firebase, Hasura)
- Know the AWS Cloud stack: EC2, S3, RDS, ES, EC, Lambda, Route 53, Codebuild, Cloud Formation
- Optimizing components for maximum performance across a vast array of web-capable devices and browsers
- Mobx state management
- Know how RESTful APIs work
- Knowledge of modern authorization mechanisms, such as JSON Web Token
- Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools
- Experience with common front-end development tools such as Learna, Webpack, NPM, etc.
- Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
- Have spent over a year working with a reactive framework in an actual production environment
- Are flexible about your patterns / approach
- Are a self starter and motivated to keep learning
- Know Agile methodologies
- Can SQL things
- A knack for benchmarking and optimization
- Understand either Chinese or Spanish
- Have game development experience
- Enjoy drawing avatar accessories
- Enjoy sound design
- Can entertain the team with memes, gifs and blow our minds with your collection of on point slack emojis.
- Have played games and have thought about the psychology and reasoned about their mechanics
