GlobalGiving is looking for a Manager of Strategic Initiatives to join our team.

You will be responsible for strategic planning, and you'll have the opportunity to lead initiatives that are integral to GlobalGiving’s transformation.

The successful candidate will be extremely curious and analytical, but also highly collaborative -- able to structure and lead processes that engage stakeholders effectively. Primary Responsibilities

Collaborate with leaders across the organization to develop GlobalGiving’s strategy and priorities and ensure successful execution of the strategy, initiatives and plans. Improve knowledge-sharing and decision-making, and proactively identify obstacles and contribute to their successful resolution. Lead special projects, including the design and execution of a new assurance function and processes.

  • Strategic Planning amp; Execution: Facilitate leadership to develop and revise GlobalGiving’s strategic plan. Support VP of Strategy in identifying and sharing key internal and external developments that could impact strategy achievement. Support leaders to set and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and quarterly Objectives amp; Key Results (OKRs).
  • Change Management amp; Transformation: Work collaboratively across the organization to build stakeholder commitment to strategy and priorities, identify issues and risks, and generate recommendations to improve effectiveness and/or efficiency. Ensure increased collaboration and free information flows across initiatives and teams.
  • Special Projects: (Up to 50% time) Lead initiatives to advance organizational priorities. The first special project will be to design, steward, and continually improve Assurance + similar processes (in terms of quality and timeliness); support and/or conduct research for investigations, corporate screenings, reputation reviews, etc; and develop a digital system for storing, managing, and sharing or accessing the knowledge, status and updates.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum 5 years work experience, and experience (either professional or as a volunteer) with nonprofit organizations.
  • High degree of comfort and skill with analytical tools/systems and technology.
  • Ability to build relationships and trust with a diverse set of dispersed stakeholders - balancing empathy with a drive to solve problems and move things forward.
  • Superior communication skills (both written and verbal) - skilled in storytelling that is compelling and translates to leadership and staff.
  • Solution-oriented, resourceful problem-solver who can connect the dots.
  • Able to engage and influence colleagues at all levels - to communicate ideas effectively, to listen to others' ideas, and to collaborate to arrive at great solutions.
  • Comfortable in high profile situations e.g. presenting to and influencing/gaining consensus from executives or leading a global webinar but also humble and willing to dig into a dense spreadsheet or complete administrative tasks.
  • Project management skills and experience.
  • Fluent in English (written/spoken); additional languages a plus.
  • A passionate belief in the mission of GlobalGiving and a commitment to our core values.

Preferred Qualifications

In addition, the ideal candidate would also have some or all of the following qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Business or related discipline.
  • Prior experience in management consulting (or a similar analytical/ consultative/ project management role)
  • Experience living and/or working internationally and/or in an international NGO.
