Given how much we are growing, we have created a new leadership position within Operations and seek a Sr. Director of Risk, Compliance and Quality. This position will report directly to the Chief Operations Officer.


The Sr. Director of Risk, Compliance and Quality is responsible for being a strategic partner to the organization dedicated to ensuring that we have the regulatory readiness and quality standards of excellence to support our growth strategies and continue to expand our mission in supporting a love of learning to children across the nation.

They will touch many areas of the business overseeing the compliance and licensing departments and will also act as a change leader driving operational initiatives and strategies forward across program models and sites nationally. Ultimately, they will lead our organization in managing the integration of quality improvement efforts across all internal functions to grow student and school partner satisfaction, grow staff competency and achieve meaningful outcomes year over year.

Keeping children safe while in our care is paramount, and we believe that investing in deepening our capabilities internally will help us better support the students, families and communities we serve today and in the future.

As a Sr. Director of Risk, Compliance and Quality, you will:

Grow our Risk, Compliance and Quality Capabilities: Continue to evolve and innovate how we proactively enhance the reputation of Rightatschool, minimize operational risk, and support a larger footprint of students through the further development of our compliance, grant, licensing and subsidy functions.

Champion Compliance amp; Licensing: Provide guidance and leadership to the organization and teams in overseeing the review and approval of licensing, health dept, sanitation, fire and other regulatory applications and renewals for new/existing program sites as required. Identify compliance related issues, propose solutions and work in partnership with field leaders, HR, legal, licensing, and finance to drive resolution and reduce overall risk profile overtime.

Manage Cross Functional Teams: Small but mighty, you will lead, coach, and develop a distributed team of grant writers, licensing and subsidy specialists who support school program sites regionally.

Be a Change Agent/Leader: Drive a culture of continuous improvement by conceiving, enhancing and operationalizing organizational strategies that grow our abilities in maintaining program quality excellence through change management methodologies and practices.

Own Processes amp; Systems: Identify, prioritize and implement workflows and technologies to improve efficiencies across field and our central office departments. Establish internal controls and adherence practices to ensure we maintain expectations with city, state and federal compliance guidelines as it relates to current and future Rightatschool products and services.

Forge Partnerships: Cultivate strong working relationships with external vendors and state entities as it relates to grant funding opportunities and site licensing needs. Act as a consummate team leader and partner internally to department leaders and the field demonstrating open and consistent communication, accountability, commitment and continued engagement across shared responsibilities and lines of work.

Own Special Projects: Perform assignments and assist with special projects as directed by the Chief Operating Officer.

Partner with Subsidy Team: Partner with internal teams to support subsidy tuition strategies that align with our mission, achieve financial business objectives and support even more families in need of our programs. Identify tactics to operationally capture subsidy funding at district and state levels, lead field teams in establishing systems to effectively obtain subsidy contracts, provide proper documentation to external government/school district partners in set up phase, maintain and store subsidy records in accordance of agency guidelines, and secure ongoing reimbursements at school sites.
