Job Description

Athletes Unlimited is a new model of pro sports where athletes are decision-makers and individual players are champions of team sports. We literally change the game with faster play, and a new draft and team rosters every week, delivering next-level competition and engagement in which every moment counts. With women’s softball, volleyball, and lacrosse as part of the roster, Athletes Unlimited will build the next generation of both athletes and fans.

The Legal Operations Manager will provide legal support to various departments across the organization, including partnerships, operations, content, and technology. This role is well-suited for applicants interested in pursuing a law degree or legal profession, but does not require legal training. This role is full-time and will report to the VP Finance and Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, distribute and execute agreements, amendments, renewals and other related documentation
  • Process NDAs
  • Manage trademarks and copyright applications together with outside legal counsel
  • Update, organize, and maintain corporate governance documents; assist with domestic business filings (state filings and annual reports)
  • Oversee document production and management, including but not limited to:
    • Coordinating signatures to contracts, filings, waivers, and other documents
    • Maintain contracts database and generate relevant reports as requested
    • Assist in the creation, revision and management of contract templates
    • Collect, review and track certificates of insurance
  • Maintain policies and procedures across sports
  • Assist with insurance applications
  • Assist with visas for international players
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Identify opportunities for improving contracting efficiencies and streamline workflows to make them more conducive to automation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (law or paralegal degrees not required but welcomed)
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience preferred, ideally in at a high-growth startup or sports league a plus but not required
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively across departments
