The roleBeing a Clinical Operations Director is a pivotal role at the heart of Empatica's business. You will oversee all operational aspects of our Clinical Research business, supporting our pharmaceutical clients, government institutions and our internal large research efforts. This means taking care of all steps of clinical trials operations, whether the work is done for our own partners or independently by Empatica: you will participate initial design, planning, execution and closing. You will help set strategic goals in your area, be responsible for the flow of operations information to the rest of the team. You will be the one to ensure that our business is well-coordinated and productive by managing its procedures and coaching its people. You will join the Management team to coordinate your work in the context of Empatica's growth.


In addition, working together with other team members, you will:

  • Direct and oversee operations staff to ensure that they are motivated and trained to carry out their responsibilities.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure that core operational functions achieve their business objectives.
  • Represent Empatica among its highest-tier research and business clients

Requirements

As the ideal candidate for this position you have:

  • A genuine interest, passion and motivation for Empatica's mission.
  • Strong academic background (Masters degree).
  • Previous strong experience in operations, whether in clinical or technology, is a must.
  • Previous knowledge of clinical operations is preferable (e.g. biomedical research administration or healthcare, bioengineering background, knowledge of bioethics, etc.).
  • Proven experience as Director/Manager of Operations or equivalent position, with relevant operations management experience
  • Excellent organisational and execution abilities
  • Excellent decision-making skills
