Marley Spoon is a fast growing business in the meal kit delivery industry. Our mission is bringing delightful, market-fresh and easy cooking back to the people while building a sustainable supply chain for a waste-free world. This is a highly competitive business in the US with many players but the overall industry and Marley Spoon in particular have experienced unprecedented growth in the past year related to the global pandemic. This has accelerated adoption of our business model and opened opportunities to continue the momentum much earlier than previously anticipated. As the business scaled to meet this increased demand we have identified a need for a more disciplined approach to project management including the development of rigorous systems and processes to streamline project management efforts, ensure appropriate governance and get projects to market on time, on budget and delivering against agreed KPI’s. We have big aspirations to continue to disrupt the grocery industry but also the broader consumer packaged goods industry and this will involve a continuous stream of new projects/ideas to be brought to market. This role reports to the US CEO and is based in New York, New York. Remote location is also an option for the right candidate.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Management, tracking, coordination and reporting of key projects
- Create and maintain a project register of all projects in the US market
- Provide project governance, status reporting and management of effective steering committees
- Identify project risk and mitigation and raise with US Leadership team, including management of the RAID log
- Effectively manage, and facilitate team to manage key issues
- Oversee project budget management as appropriate, working with key stakeholders
- Define/support development key project assumptions including resource requirements, timelines, budgets and ROI
- Project planning, milestone, and KPI tracking and dependency management
- Project documentation and information exchange (leverage central systems like Confluence)
- Identify process gaps and build systems/processes to effectively manage projects
- Build project management capabilities for the US team
- Effectively collaborate with global partners to ensure a common approach
- Understand project interdependencies, identify resource bottlenecks and troubleshoot
- Ensure a smooth exchange of information to all stakeholders
- Work closely with the US CEO to build management systems/processes that ensure appropriate oversight of projects, resource prioritization and key issue management.
Requirements
* University degree (economics, business administration, supply chain/operations)
- 3-5 years of relevant project management experience (business development, consulting, marketing or supply chain management)
- Experience in start-up of growth stage companies ideal but not required
- Demonstrated proficiency overseeing major projects, leading teams and working with senior management
- Comfortable working cross functionally and globally
- Data driven decision making mentality, strong analytical thinking
- Attention to detail especially related to project governance processes, procedures and controls
- Proven ability to identify, develop and implement new processes
- Strong communication skills with an ability to write clear, concise business communications suitable for multiple audiences
- Proficient In MS Office, GSuite and medium-advanced Excel skills
- Hands on, roll up your sleeves attitude and approach to the role
- Comfortable working in multiple cloud-based environments (Slack, Confluence, Asana, GDocs, etc.)
- Written and spoken English proficiency
- Project Management qualification (Prince 2, Agile etc.) is desired
- Proficiency in Project Management software is desired but not required
