Job Description

Deliverables/Principal Results Expected:

  • Supervises Behavioral Health Technicians and BHT Supervisors.
  • Develops and maintains staff schedules for the group homes.
  • Communicates with staff either verbally or in written communication logs.
  • Assists in training of new staff members.
  • Assists in intervention of clients who are in crisis mode to utilize the least restrictive procedure necessary to calm them down.
  • Transports clients when necessary.
  • Attends treatment team meetings, shift change and company meetings. Participates in work groups and gets involved in performance improvement of our organization.
  • Attends all mandatory trainings.
  • Develops orientation and training programs (new and ongoing)
  • Helps Human Resources plan, evaluate and update the clinical ladder system for BHT’s.
  • Integrates training with the ladder system.
  • Evaluates movements within ladders, training needs, system changes, etc.
  • Assists Human Resources with recruitment and interviewing of new BHT’s.
  • Involvement in disciplinary action process of BHT’s and BHT Supervisors.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for the BHT’s and BHT Supervisors.
  • Other duties as deemed necessary
  • Technical Competencies: Coordinate BHT’s scheduling and cross facility coverage such that training and other overtime is significantly reduced. Capable of giving appropriate feedback to staff and role modeling to staff. Organizes the BHT’s so the staff is trained and knowledgeable about their job functions. Advises clinical staff of clients’ goals and how they are progressing. Completes required trainings and ensures all BHT’s are completing them as well. A working knowledge of mental health issues and delinquent behaviors. Strong clinical skills. A working knowledge of HIPAA, Licensing and CARF regulations.

    Education, Experience:

    High school diploma or equivalent. Previous supervisory experience. Valid Driver’s License.
