TEACHER READING INTERVENTION
Position Summary:
The Reading Intervention Teacher is responsible for push-in and pull out support for grades K-8 and for helping students develop proficient reading skills that will contribute to their academic growth. The role will primarily focus on working extensively with students in groups/one-on-one to help them improve specific reading skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Work with classroom teachers to design methods of learning that are most appropriate for each child
· Work with teachers and Literacy Specialist to monitor student progress
· Assist teachers with diagnosing reading strengths and weaknesses and with identifying and matching appropriate techniques/strategies
· Keep parents informed of student progress and required supports
· Work with Literacy Center to facilitate activities associated with the literacy/reading program
· Work with Literacy Center to conduct schoolwide reading assessments
· Promote interest in reading
Requirements
Education amp; Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree required
· Experience tutoring or teaching English, reading is strongly preferred.
· Experience working in a K-8 school preferred
· PA teaching certificate required
· Experience with Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) - Response to Intervention (RTI)
