Parts Room / Shipping Department AssistantPosition Summary:
Assists with setting and overseeing work assignments, schedules, and work quality of the Parts Room and Shipping Dept.
Parts Room / Shipping Department Assistant Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set/oversee work assignments and schedules to assigned staff
- Monitor quantity and quality of work performed
- Pick, pack, and ship parts, prepare and process all related paperwork, and operate computerized shipping/labeling machine
- Ship orders
- Control inventory levels within department
- Train new employees
- Ensure all team members are trained on work instructions, processes, and applicable software applications to carry out assigned functions
- Order parts for stock inventory
- Receive parts into inventory
- Load and unload trucks when needed
- Enforce safety policies and practices, including use of required PPE
- Report insubordination, safety violations, injuries, disciplinary behavior directly to supervisor in timely manner
- Documentation as needed
- Other duties assigned
Parts Room / Shipping Department Assistant Education and/or Experience:
- Associates degree preferred
- 3+ years leadership experience in similar environment required
- Class A CDL preferred
- Experience with DOT requirements and regulations
