About the Role

Capella is seeking a Sales Development Representative to provide pre-sales support and pipeline development. This role will be responsible for servicing inbound sales and related inquiries with a focus on engaging and qualifying all prospective customers, as well as identifying, researching and leading outbound activities in partnership with the sales team. This role will work closely with our Marketing and Community teams to influence awareness campaigns and will act as one of the first touch points for prospects to set the tone for the sales cycle following. The right candidate will be one who works well under pressure, easily initiates relaxed but informative two-way phone/zoom conversations with prospects and is highly self-motivated.

Requirements

  • Act as the initial role for all inbound Capella sales leads and inquiries. You will be responsible for responding, engaging, and qualifying these prospects
  • Work with our marketing team to collaborate on campaigns to drive inbound leads and inquiries
  • In partnership with our Community team, engage current lead prospects to expand awareness, educate, ask for referrals, identify new opportunities and develop account intelligence
  • Demonstrate the value of our offering through phone calls, email, LinkedIn, and other social mediums to develop new opportunities
  • Diligently update SalesForce, our CRM, to keep current on contacts/opportunities/leads and follow-ups;
  • Once opportunities have been qualified, set appointments for the appropriate Account Executive, and educate the rep as necessary about the opportunity
  • Shadow our Account Executives in meetings and other activities to help you acquire the skills you’ll need for your next role with the Capella Sales organization
  • Work with our regional sales directions to develop account intelligence, relationship maps, and use case opportunities through direct account engagement and insight tools
  • With sales leadership, build targeted outbound campaigns for strategic targets, including researching accounts, identifying key players, generate interest and develop accounts to stimulate opportunities
  • Researching and evaluating additional leads/prospects through web research
  • Build a scalable process to enable a repeatable workflow for inbound lead follow-up and outbound lead prospecting.
  • Work with Sales Engineering to help gather market interests and applications that will help drive the creation of additional technical sales collateral
