Principle Software Engineer - Medical Robotics

Job Description
We're a small team working on a phenomenal application of robotics in the fitness/wellness space, looking for someone who knows how to write safety critical robotics control software and is passionate about making systems work together to help us move from prototype to product. You'll work on advanced robotics applications for a remarkable product that will make people feel great, and once you see what we’re building, you’ll immediately understand why.
Day to day, you'll get to help us define the fundamentals of software at the heart of our product, and will work with a stellar team along the way. Your role will be the engineering technical lead, directing the efforts of taking our existing software stack and development processes through the changes required for medical software compliance. You will be heavily involved with systems design efforts and verification and validation activities. This is a cross functional role that will require close collaboration with existing software development and quality teams.
But you do need to be diligent, curious, have a clear sense of urgency, and a willingness to take complete ownership of your code from the system level all the way through deployment.
Requirements
What we’re looking for:
- 5+ years commercial medical software development
- Experience in developing medical devices in conformance with Quality System Regulations, ISO 14971, ISO 13485, 62304 requirements.
- Strong understanding of Functional Safety
- Minimum BS in CS or an engineering field
- A deep background in C++, Ada or Rust
Even better if you have these skills as well:
- Experience developing a medical robotics product
- Use of safety critical real-time software frameworks and middleware
- Experience with Cybersecurity (FDA)
