Job Description

We're looking for a Software Engineer in Test (SET) with experience working with web applications, mobile applications, and third-party integrations. You’ll be responsible for designing, implementing, and running diagnostic and automated tests to ensure that our dashboard, integrations with partners, and SDKs are all working correctly. You must be based in the US (CA, PA, GA, IL) or in Berlin/Germany.

Who Are We And What Do We Do

The largest app stores have nearly 6,000,000 million apps! That’s a lot of competition if you’d like to get noticed and that’s where Tenjin can help.

For User Acquisition Specialists, Data Analysts and Marketers fighting through the noise and gaining the attention of potential mobile users in this hyper-competitive market is a challenge. To succeed you need a Growth Data Infrastructure (GDI) so that user data analysis may be turned into profitable actions. This is expensive and at Tenjin we help democratise the possibility of success for new and upcoming apps by offering a much more economical GDI solution. We have helped some of the world’s biggest apps.

You might not see us, but we have a powerful presence in the industry and have developed a highly regarded reputation within the gaming and mobile advertising ecosystem globally. Remote working is in our DNA. We are a diverse and highly collaborative team based all around the world. Our Headquarters are in San Francisco and Berlin, but we also have team members based in Atlanta, Chicago, Toronto, Shanghai, London, and Tokyo.

Requirements

What You’ll Do

  • Identifying bugs and other regressions: You’ll identify, document, and track bugs and other issues with the quality of our software. You’ll leverage automated tools, custom scripts, and do manual deep dives into our software to figure out where things aren’t working correctly.
  • Work on our iOS, Android, and Unity SDKs: Our SDKs are installed in thousands of apps across billions of devices. You’ll ensure that our SDKs don’t cause any issues for our customers’ apps - no crashes, performance slowdowns, or excessive resource utilization. You’ll also validate that our SDKs work seamlessly with the latest as well as legacy mobile OS versions.
  • Ensure our customers have an amazing experience: Customers visit our dashboard to verify their SDK integrations, set up marketing campaigns, and analyze performance reports. You’ll work with our product, design, and customer teams to study user workflows for new features and check for regressions on releases. A lot of workflows in our dashboard are data-intensive, so you’ll build tools to simulate real-world datasets and conditions representative of the customer experience.
  • Validate our integrations with third-parties: We have integrations with many major marketing channels such as Google, Facebook, Snap, and TikTok. You’ll write tests to prevent regressions whenever we make changes to the integration code.

Who You Are

  • Communication and People Skills: You’re able to communicate technical issues and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences. We’re a distributed team, so having good writing skills is a big asset.
  • Technical Skills: You have experience defining acceptance criteria and writing integration tests, API tests, and UI automation tests. You have a tester mindset and can identify common scenarios and rare edge cases. Having an understanding of HTTP and modern web applications is a must. Experience with data processing and warehousing is preferred. Knowledge of mobile application development is a big plus as well.
  • Flexible: Ideally you've worked in an early stage startup and can function with minimal or changing requirements. You can spot areas where we can improve our processes and can drive the team to implement those changes. You can also work with minimal direction.
  • Ownership: You’ll work with product and engineering to formalize releases of new versions of our software. You’ll review and provide feedback on product specs and designs early.

Benefits

  • Annual budget for learning and personal development
  • Budget for fitness/wellbeing activities
  • Budget towards vacation activities -- accommodation, flights etc.
  • Laptop and other equipment needed
  • Fantastic bonus scheme
  • Regular (virtual) Team Events
  • Subsidized lunches
  • Unlimited holidays
  • Flexible working arrangements: hours and location
  • Company away days
