Job Description

Clarksdale Collegiate Public Charter School prepares scholars in the Mississippi Delta to excel in high school and college by providing rigorous instruction within a structured, ambitious, and jubilant school community. We are unapologetically college preparatory and work relentlessly to achieve our urgent and ambitious mission.


Clarksdale Collegiate is seeking a dynamic co-curricular classroom teacher position to teach kindergarten through fifth grade scholars in a focused discipline such as art, music, dance, foreign language, or physical education. Each teacher is responsible for executing lessons, managing the classroom, and ensuring a positive classroom culture each day. Teachers are also responsible for collaborating with the co-curricular team, particularly for lesson planning and norming instructional practices, as well as working closely with classroom teachers to support students’ academic, social, and emotional development. All Clarksdale Collegiate teachers are accountable for the intellectual preparation for each lesson, building strong and positive relationships with students and families, using data to tailor their instruction, and actively engaging in collaboration with their colleagues.

Requirements

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Execute daily lesson plans for all assigned blocks.
  • Implement all Clarksdale Collegiate routines and procedures with fidelity.
  • Prepare weekly lesson plans and unit plans in a timely manner for feedback.
  • Actively participate in all professional development sessions and weekly coaching sessions.
  • Incorporate feedback from coaches in a timely manner.
  • Communicate weekly with colleagues, families and other key stakeholders.
  • Provide scholars with frequent and accurate behavioral and academic feedback.
  • Consistently analyze scholar data and engage in self-reflection on practices.
  • Complete all duties, posts, and tasks as assigned.


Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required with passing Praxis I scores for Mississippi preferred.
  • Mississippi State teacher license/certification preferred.
