Job Description

The NextGen consultant position reports, on a line-management basis, to the Director of NextGen solutions with day-to-day reporting for specific projects to a Senior NextGen consultant.

At its core, the NextGen Consultant role focuses on the successful execution of the strategic objectives of Euromonitor Custom research clients. This role will also seek to deliver and promote efficient project setup through the effective use of our full range of existing and new capabilities born out of data engineering, technology, visualisation and data science. It is a role that requires a genuine interest in learning and adopting new methods, re-imagining research and creating new project delivery frameworks.

A NextGen consultant will also have the following objectives:

  • To provide actionable insights to our clients in the management and execution of custom research studies
  • To encourage collaboration (inter-team and cross-department) in order to better develop, educate, and innovate on project solutions.
  • To assist in the training and mentoring of full-time and contract staff, supporting a commercially aware and capably efficient consulting team.
  • To support Business Development (CGBD) and sales by participating in share out sessions and occasionally reviewing proposals and/or visiting clients in a pro-active manner.


Key responsibilities

  • Research Management: oversee and be responsible for on-going custom research work research projects.
    • Liaise with colleagues within and across offices to organize, create, capture and distribute best practices into appropriate tracking tools and promote organizational innovation.
  • Client Communication:
    • Client communication from project inception through project completion, ensuring that all core objectives are met.
    • Presenting findings via phone and in-person to clients to ensure that all client objectives have been met.
    • Understanding, maintaining and developing the relationship between Euromonitor and any custom research client.
  • Project Set-up:
    • The planning of projects including development of briefs, templates and other supporting materials necessary for meeting all project objectives.
    • Conducting preliminary research into new project areas in order to develop more useful project documents.
  • Project Execution:
    • The day to day line management of any contract analysts (as relevant) including regular communication via phone and email, establishing schedules and administering final payments.
      • Work closely with the Research Recruiter to ensure that projects are adequately resourced and that the pool and quality of contract analysts match project volume and complexity.
    • Continued upkeep of all folders and materials associated with current projects to ensure that all information is easily accessible to other relevant Euromonitor personnel.
    • On-going preliminary and final review of all generated materials via querying, validation and final interpretation of data and analysis to fully meet client objectives.
    • Research, analysis and revisions to materials generated by analysts, adding value to the project documents and creating the final deliverables
    • Liaising with colleagues in other regional offices to ensure that all project team members have a clear understanding of goals, objectives and timelines.
    • Delivering timely, thorough analysis that meets client objectives.
    • Liaising with Business Development throughout and after project execution to review results and objectives.
    • Liaising with relevant Syndicated analysts and managers, updating them with new information and insights for relevant industries
  • Personnel
    • Mentoring associate NextGen consultants via day-to-day knowledge transfers, offering immediate feedback and applied training activities when necessary, e.g., explaining Excel or PPT functionality.
    • Assisting and occasionally running team training sessions on key areas for improvement.
    • Participate in certain portions of new hiring when deemed necessary by Senior NextGen consultants and Head of Consulting.
  • Commercial Activities:
    • As the NextGen consultant develops, so, too, will his or her experience participating in revenue-driving activities for our business. While more substantial revenue-focused requirements are expected from Senior NextGen consultants, the following activities can be expected in the role of NextGen consultant:
      • Execute on, large, global, repeat jobs and repeat client business.
      • Review repeat, or extension proposals for CGBD regarding clients with whom you have previously worked.
      • Visit prospective clients in order
