Job Description

Surrozen is a biotechnology company focused on discovering and developing novel regenerative medicines that unlock the powerful self-renewal properties of the body through specific control of the Wnt signaling pathway.

Surrozen was founded by five leading-edge scientists: K. Christopher Garcia, Ph.D., Roel Nusse, Ph.D. and Calvin Kuo, M.D., Ph.D. from Stanford University; Claudia Janda, Ph.D. from the Princess Maxima Center for Pediatric Oncology; and Hans Clevers, M.D, Ph.D. from the Hubrecht Institute and Princess Maxima Center. Each has conducted extensive research on Wnt signaling, with findings that together shape Surrozen’s technology and approach to therapeutic development.

We are currently recruiting a Manager, Project Management to join our Drug Development group. This is an outstanding opportunity for a talented, enthusiastic, and motivated project manager to facilitate the work of core and subteams in an exciting, collaborative environment advancing drug development.


Responsibilities

  • Reports to the Director of Project Management and supports the work of core teams and subteams in biologics drug development from late research and preclinical development to early-stage clinical trials.
  • Collaborates with team leads to facilitate team meetings and ensure that clear actions and decisions are documented, communicated and committed to, enabling timeline achievement
  • With team members and in accordance with corporate objectives, facilitates/documents the setting of program strategy and objectives, key milestones and scope
  • Coordinates the design and execution of cross-functional project plans for exploratory drug discovery and early clinical development of biologics therapeutics. This will involve the mapping of preclinical, early development and all other relevant team information, with a variety of project management tools.
  • Maintains frequent communication with the cross-functional project team members and key internal stakeholders so that all parties are aware of current project status, issues, contingencies, and milestones
  • Prepares summary information on program progress, timeline updates and risk assessment
  • Builds strong working relationships across departments, with key stakeholders, and Senior Management to ensure transparency and to facilitate communication

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biology, chemistry or other related scientific area.
  • At least 3 years of Pharmaceutical Industry project coordination/management experience or equivalent. Understanding of the early drug development/drug discovery process.
  • Extensive intermediate to advanced computer skills (Power Point, Excel, Word, Smartsheet, MS Project, and SharePoint)
  • Enjoys problem solving and working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to develop project plans that elaborate activities necessary to achieve team goals; ability to track progress against those plans.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including people management, time management, organizational, and prioritization skills
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, to communicate effectively both verbally and written, and to build collaborative relationships is critical.
  • Must be a highly organized self-starter.
