The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for ensuring quality products and customer satisfaction are attained throughout KP Operations/Delivery value stream; monitoring effectiveness of KP Quality Management System (QMS) to assure ISO 9001/14001 standard requirements are met and coordinating the facility safety programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements department project-specific Quality Plans. Defines and maintains quality control and quality assurance methods related to project-specific Quality Plans. May work concurrently on several Project launches, each with specific quality plans.
- Works with Quality Control Inspector to ensure inspection activities outlined in project-specific Quality Plans are conducted during shop floor quality inspections and documented.
- Schedules and conducts periodic assessments (validating CAPA / IA / QMS documentation implementation and effectiveness) and participates in audits of KP suppliers (as directed).
- Leads and conducts investigation of customer complaints and nonconformance reports, and provides identification of possible causes. Facilitates root cause analysis with functional groups. Coordinates the disposition of nonconforming products and materials.
- Owns and maintains employee training matrices, plans and records. Identifies and addresses quality training requirements for all team members.
- Document management; creates, reviews, revises, controls and maintains a variety of QMS materials, procedures, documents, records, reports and charts.
- Provides administrative support for Division Safety amp; EMS Committee. Records action item assignments, meeting minutes; compiles prior inspection and audit results in order to provide proper documentation for new internal audits.
- Leads special projects and assists with continual improvement of KP Quality Management System (e.g., Management Reviews)
- Other duties, as assigned or requested.
Requirements
- Associates Degree; plus 2 3 years in quality assurance or related inspection activities; preferably Quality Management System experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and technical.
- Experience in graphic arts in print, post print, assembly or direct mail preferred.
- Must be able to distinguish colors to inspect product and pass color vision and color hue tests.
- Demonstrated knowledge and use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Visio, and MRP/ERP software. Exposure to Microsoft Dynamics AX is a plus.
- Previous participation on a safety team and/or other safety training is a plus
- Strong verbal, written and listening skills; ability to read, understand and follow SOP’s,
instructions and safety, security and quality procedures; effectively communicate with KP employees and external
vendors. - Pays attention to detail and reviews all work carefully for completeness and accuracy.
- Uses self-management and follow-up skills to plan, organize and prioritize work activities to
use time efficiently. - Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with others in a team environment.
