If you answered yes to any of those questions, then APPLY TODAY!! REC is seeking an experienced drainage engineer for an immediate full-time opportunity in their Houston office.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare hydrologic and hydraulic models using a wide range of models, including HEC-RAS amp; HEC-HMS.
  • Prepare hydrologic and hydraulic studies and FEMA permitting
  • Research jurisdictional drainage requirements for appropriate incorporation into design and construction drawings.
  • Oversee production of drainage design and construction drawings using AutoCAD amp; MicroStation
  • Perform data management and prepare exhibits using ArcGIS and QGIS.
  • Work as a member of a multi-discipline team.
  • Mentor EIT staff regarding hydrologic and hydraulic theory and practice
  • Conduct site visits and document findings.
  • Write and coordinate preparation of graphic materials for presentations and documents.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to prepare civil engineering documents and specifications.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to write clearly to communicate technical issues and design ideas.
  • Ability to present in a meeting.
  • Ability to mentor staff

Knowledge:

  • Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with PondPack, XPSwmm, ArcHydro, GeoRAS, GeoHMS, InfoWorks, HEC-RAS 2D, GEOPAK Drainage, CivilStorm, and Civil3D are all a plus.

Requirements

  • Licensed engineer in the state of Texas
  • 5 years of experience
  • Experience in the Houston area is desired
  • The role will work collaboratively in a team environment providing drainage analysis modeling and design for public infrastructure and transportation projects.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
