JOB SUMMARY:
As the Project Management Director (PMD), you will guide our project management discipline. You will report to and partner with our Vice President of Client Services to drive both the agency and our clients to work smarter. The PMD must clearly express and formulate ideas that influence solutions at all levels of the organization, particularly around resource management, work product, and efficiency. More specifically, the PMD will guide the delivery of work to clients across all channels by creating project management workflows, processes, and standards that foster effective planning, collaboration, and execution.
Anticipating issues, clarifying ambiguity, and welcoming challenges should be your default operating mode. More to that point, the right candidate does not need to be told what to do, they merely need to know what must be accomplished.
As the FARM PMD, you will be a trusted member of a key group that is steering client work and guiding our organization through a period of structural change and growth.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Guide and monitor agency resourcing and staff/workload distribution, proactively helping to drive decision making with account staff on project teams/roles/timing to maximize the full potential of staff investment and quality of work product.
- Directly serve assigned accounts/client projects and fulfill all defined jobs duties of respective project management needs; working in concert with agency team members to manage the workflow from start-to-finish as well as the financials of project (expect PMD to have at minimum 50% billable hours).
- Act as a part of concurrent large- and small-scale teams across the agency for internal projects, company marketing, and direct client work, either in a lead or supporting role.
- Establish efficient processes for all stages of work from project scoping and planning initiation to financial estimating, internal resourcing, and execution.
- Define and document all best practices and standard operating procedures by working with agency leadership and other staff as required.
- Train staff for use of agency management system (Workamajig) on project management and billing/budgeting/estimating/forecasting procedures.
- Oversee process governance and monitor adherence/performance standards, as well as the steering of set feedback loops with internal staff and clients.
- Facilitate conversations about work challenges/opportunities and successfully steward agency core values in all staff/client interactions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related field preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of agency project management experience or client-side marketing team management.
- Attention to detail; strong organizational skill
- Ability to take ownership of work and meet deadlines.
- Capable of managing several projects simultaneously
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to adapt to project management software (Workamajig).
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
