Job Description

GROUNDFLOOR is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our fast-growing team. This person will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, become a subject matter expert in the GROUNDFLOOR product development process, providing guidance on next steps, deliverables, and follow-up action items, ensuring issues are resolved and communicated.

Additionally, this role will be responsible for coordinating project development and communicating project status as it relates to deadlines. It will be critical that he or she work successfully across multiple departments to ensure all stakeholders are actively engaged in the completion of the project. This position will partner with various departments from Engineering, Marketing, Operations, and Finance/analytics to ensure input during strategic development and will be directly responsible for department implementation and execution.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced leader, strong communicator, team player, organized, an evangelist for process improvement, with a proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects of various scales.

Requirements

  • Develop, communicate and manage overall project plans (tasks, timelines, milestones and deadlines)
  • Kick it off; line it up; make it happen!
  • Be the go-to person and ensure every step of the project plan is well-defined, manageable and attainable
  • Clearly communicate project status to effectively manage expectations throughout the process (from senior management to engineers)
  • Define business requirements, write and refine user stories, prioritize backlogs, and plan releases
  • Coordinate and lead user acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Provides strategic and tactical leadership in product management that insure financial goals, improved efficiencies and that ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Effectively use escalation paths to keep the project on track
  • Ensure requirements are gathered, distributed and clearly communicated
  • Coordinate meetings, as needed, to initiate working sessions, resolve project issues, and provide status updates.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 5+ years technical Project Management experience; startup experience preferred
  • 2+ years Program Management experience
  • Deep understanding of web development technology
  • Proven experience leading a team and managing multiple projects at once
  • Knowledge of project management processes and methodologies
  • Familiarity with project management tools (JIRA, gantt charts, etc) a plus
  • Track record of creative problem solving and ability to thrive in a cross-functional and virtual environment
  • Passion for learning about new technologies and identifying ways to drive innovation

Communication and Cognitive Abilities

  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with short delivery times
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Self-starter ability to drive projects forward with limited oversight
  • Lead the conversation, keep meetings on track and publish results
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement actionable plans to drive business results
