At Obviously AI, we are looking for a passionate data science enthusiast who is a natural speaker, thoroughly understands high level machine learning concepts and can creatively explain complicated ideas to anyone in layman terms. For this position, you will be focusing on Data Science Support, this includes engaging with customers and enabling them to succeed with AI by helping them with explain models and provide technical support (incl. data pre-processing, feature engineering, etc.). Ultimately, you will work directly report to the Lead Data Scientist and will engage in explaining complicated AI models to customers and occasionally write simple Python and R scripts for data cleaning tasks.
Responsibilities
- Interact with customer to explain technical concepts in layman terms.
- Troubleshoot model performance by reviewing model metrics (e.g. precision, recall, f1 score, etc.), exploring and recommending best practices for structuring dataset.
- Perform data cleaning and pre-processing on complex datasets. Incl. removing rows/cols, stripping values, changing units, normalization, imputing missing values, expanding cols, etc.
- Conduct feature engineering on customer datasets. Incl. creating new cols out of existing cols, running statistical functions on rows/cols, working on transforming columns, etc.
- Analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns.
- Build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms (with Obviously AI's No-Code tool).
- Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges.
- Collaborate with engineering and product development teams.
- Update and manage technical support tickets and requests.
Requirements
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Deep understanding of ML algorithms and how they work
- Ability to easily explain complex concepts in simple layman language (Very Important)
- Advanced level proficiency in Python incl. libraries like SciKit Learn, MatplotLib, Numpy, Pandas or equivalent.
- Be a spreadsheet guru (Very Important)
- Ability to think spontaneously on the spot
- Great proficiency in English and ability to start and engage conversations
- Ability to organize and maintain records
- Self motivated and goal oriented
- Strong math skills (e.g. statistics, algebra)
- Problem-solving aptitude
