Job Description

The Sr. Director/Director, New Product Planning will report into the SVP, Corporate Strategy. The Director/Sr. Director will leverage their deep understanding of global markets to inform disease area and early commercial strategy development and planning for BlueRock’s pipeline products. Further, the Director/Sr. Director will work with teams to quickly understand the scientific basis of Bluerock’s programs in order to help build optimized product profiles and to inform clinical and regulatory approaches. The position will collaborate closely with leaders across the organization including research, development, program management, clinical, regulatory, strategy and business development, and will lead strategic initiatives to ensure BlueRock continues to develop products that address an unmet medical need, are highly competitive and well-differentiated.


KEY DUTIES amp; RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Lead development of disease area strategy for new product candidates in preclinical and early clinical pipeline
  • Provide program teams with commercial input into early product development and planning, including indication prioritization, competitive intelligence, and value propositions
  • Develop and communicate strong understanding of potential patient segments, level of unmet needs, and competitive pipeline to inform Target Product Profiles
  • Direct and implement market research and landscaping using internal and external resources to inform asset strategies, support successful reimbursement of pipeline assets at launch, and to stay up to date in market developments and changes in competitive landscape
  • Generate and maintain product-level global forecasts for strategic and financial planning, in collaboration with relevant cross-functional stakeholders
  • Represent commercial function on due diligence teams and provide strategic insights, market knowledge, and opportunity assessments/asset valuation in support of key business development projects

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences
  • 10+ years pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience, including 7+ years in commercial roles (e.g., new product planning, market research/analytics, brand marketing, sales)
  • Business acumen and understanding of the drug development process and roles of key stakeholders
  • Experience defining disease area and/or corporate strategy
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across the new product lifecycle, including Research, Clinical, Regulatory and Manufacturing and gain consensus from diverse perspectives
  • Ability to quickly become the internal market expert in multiple disease areas, covering early commercial product development
  • Strong organization and project management skills, ability to multi-task across various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Significant strategic planning and analytic skills, able to clearly interpret and distill scientific, clinical and commercial information and effectively plan, prioritize, execute, follow up and anticipate challenges
  • Self-starter, able to direct work independently, team player

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, PhD, PharmD) preferred
  • New product planning experience in cell amp; gene therapy and/or neurology
