About the Organizational Growth Team

We’ve combined the functions that we believe enable every part of our organization to tap into their potential - people, finance and internal operations - to form a high impact and close-knit team. Our People Operations Associate has an expanding role that executes across people ops functions (recruiting, benefits, payroll, talent ops) and we have an interim Finance Manager who will partner with you to define permanent finance needs. You’ll translate our business plans into innovative people and finance strategies that reinvigorate team members across their employee experience while working to expand the organizational growth team’s capability resulting in sustainable growth.

About the Role

  • Foster inside-out transformational growth driven by our Nexleaf culture code and values while influencing the development of our company goals as we scale
  • Build on existing approaches to talent development and design new ways to upskill starting with leadership development and talent planning that enables everyone to own their greatness
  • Design and improve on initiatives across the employee experience while partnering with our People amp; Operations Associate to deliver on them (employer brand, hiring, on-boarding, performance development, culture strategy, talent planning, total rewards)
  • Cultivate a data-driven culture that helps leaders evaluate the right investment decisions, considering economic impacts, risks and trade-offs as well as metrics for measuring impact. This includes strengthening our ability to apply strong judgment balancing intuition and clear financial/people insights that get us to the next level of impact
  • Create more user-friendly financial processes that drive ownership and provide context across the organization
  • As our controller, oversee and ensure the health of our accounting rhythm including reconciliations, monthly close, annual reporting, audits, and tax submission, including building integrated systems and reporting across our earned revenue and philanthropic grants
  • Proactively partner with the customer amp; sales, fundraising, board and the leadership team to perform forecasting and modeling, including creating pricing strategies for new business.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience across HR, finance and accounting, with at least 2+ years leading a cross-functional team
  • Champion and perpetuate growth mindset that’s rooted in learning from feedback
  • Future focused, thinking ahead and anticipating opportunities and engaging others along the way
  • Ability to influence in all directions, inspiring and leading complex transformation that’s based on trust and open communication
  • Deeply curious and perceptive, with an ability to ask powerful questions that unlock insights and perspectives from others especially when they’re stuck
  • Masterful coach, with deep experience developing leaders at all levels and amplifying the talent across the organization individually and collectively
  • You bring first principles thinking and strong judgment drawing from broad experience, balancing instinct and analytics, and balancing discipline with agility

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading a global and cross-cultural team
  • Experience with final responsibility for finance and accounting, preferably at a non-profit (CPA strongly preferred)
  • Experience with earned revenue, cost of goods sold, and international subsidiaries a plus
