About the role:
Finix is a passionate group of people who want to help our customers grow and succeed through payment technology. Finix’s mission is to drive the success of vertical software companies by giving them an easy way to accept payments on their platforms -- for example, by allowing a company that serves yoga studios to more easily allow their customers to sell products and services directly to their end users. Finix allows companies like MindBody to make more than 50% of their entire revenue from payments, and helps these companies manage this payment flow through high-quality, workflow-driven user interfaces.
You’ll champion our vision to make every software company a payments company by managing and growing a strong team of developers, building relationships with other teams at Finix, and learning how to better serve the kaleidoscope of business models amp; markets that make up our user base. Scope Impact
  • Lead multiple team-wide initiatives that contribute to the key aspects of a product line e.g., payments processing in Flex amp; onboarding.
  • Lead and launch new product or platform capabilities/features or process improvements which are critical to a Finix product offering. These initiatives are fairly self-contained and may require collaboration with multiple teams across disciplines.
  • Able to take initiatives from inception to launch.
  • Lead multiple teams (2+).
Strategy Leadership
  • Deliver a multi-quarter feature roadmap aligned to the vision and objectives of the product line.
  • Objectively measure and demonstrate the impact of the new capabilities, features or process improvements and correlate them to the product metrics. E.g., onboarding is made efficient from X days to Y hours, this resulted in onboarding Z % user growth.
  • Demonstrate close alignment and collaboration with product and support teams.
Execution
  • Proactively establish processes to deliver on business results within expected timelines e.g., JIRA process frameworks, prioritization definitions
  • Proactively measures tech debt and takes steps to contain it.
  • Ensure high-quality releases with metrics and quality dashboards.
  • Establish channels to gather customer feedback and process to address them in product plans.
  • Maintain a strong personal connection with every engineer, manager, and tech lead on the team.
  • Motivate and get a pulse of the team regularly.
  • Provide a good onboarding experience.
Communication Collaboration
  • Ensure individual goals and OKRs are aligned with the product and all other disciplines.
  • Ensure tight/close collaboration with partner teams to deliver on shared OKRs. e.g., setup sandbox environments.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on project progress, team health, risk, etc.
  • Closely work with tech leads to deliver timely results with the highest quality.
Community Culture
  • Be an engineering champion for your product areas.
  • Objectively measure productivity and team health.
  • Proactively take measures to improve morale.
  • Drive customer-first mindset by gathering customer feedback from support and channeling back into product plans.
  • Partner with hiring and recruiting, by active participation in interviews, setting up the panel, compiling a compelling job description, etc.
  • Be a champion for your team in performance discussions, quarterly talent reviews, etc.
