Software Developer (Financial Services)

We are looking for a Software Developer to build and implement functional programs. You will work with other Developers and Product Managers throughout the software development life cycle. In this role, you should be a team player with a keen eye for detail and problem-solving skills. If you also have experience in Agile frameworks and popular coding languages (e.g. JavaScript), we’d like to meet you. Your goal will be to build efficient programs and systems that serve user needs.

• Interface with business teams as needed to support current business processes. Respond to stakeholder needs in a professional and timely manner - providing extended support during quarterly client reporting cycles (typically a few weeks before and after each calendar quarter end).
• Maintain, run and monitor various automated and manual data feeds and custom screens that support our strategic suite of Investment systems and smaller supporting applications.
• Complete technical specifications based on both written and oral business requirements in an agile and dynamic real-time environment.
• Code system enhancements and collaborate with other system developers (both onshore and offshore) to ensure deliverables adhere to quality amp; security standards, are based on business requirements and aligned with the system designs. Verify solutions with senior developers and business representatives/analysts.
• Code changes required for bug fixes, security remediations and for obsolete system tools and components.
• Create simple user interface designs and design architecture for distributed information systems working with Dev Ops Architecture teams as needed.
• Assist project managers with cost, scope and timing estimations.
• Participate in the successful deployment and implementation of new and existing products amp; applications.
• Assist with the generation of technical change orders required by change management.
• Analysis of data using SQL to ensure data integrity, accuracy and completeness. Process routine data updates.
• Proactively coordinate the training and transitioning of routine maintenance processes to support teams in other regions. Assist with required process updates to enhance needed automations.

Requirements

• Relevant bachelor’s degree with degrees in Computer Science or similar technical field.
• 5+ years of systems development experience working in a modern development lifecycle.
• Experience creating technical specifications from business and functional requirements. gathering/documenting requirements and developing technical specifications is a plus.
• Required Tool Set Experience: SSIS, SSRS, Oracle 12c+, SQL Server 2012+, TSQL, P/L SQL, Microsoft .Net Framework 4+, ASP.NET, Visual Studio 2013+, C#, Relational Databases, JavaScript, XML, Web Services, Read/Write stored procedures and queries in MS-SQL and Oracle
• Optional Tool Set Experience: AJAX, LINQ, Telerik Controls, VB.NET, Aspose components, Component Art ASP.NET components, TFS, ASP.Net Web Forms, IIS, Oracle SQL Developer, SQL Server Management Studio.
• Experience in Financial Services is required. Experience working with investment related data and performance reporting, including data feeds from Lipper/Bloomberg are a plus.
• Experience with business analysis, application development and project management principles, practices, techniques and tools. Experience with both legacy (e.g. TFS) and modern (Jira) software development tool sets.
• Experience working with offshore/remote development teams in an Agile environment.
