About the role

This is an opportunity to define and drive the paid media practice at a growing agency. We're looking for a true expert, with a passion for paid search, display, and paid social to help take our paid media programs and services to the next level. Reporting to the head of digital marketing, you’ll combine technical know-how, an analytical approach and the creativity to create great paid media programs. You'll be responsible for campaign strategy and implementation, helping to develop the agency’s PPC roadmap, improving our internal processes, and providing expert counsel to clients and team members.

The role is part of a senior marketing team well-versed in PR and digital marketing. Most of our campaigns are integrated across PR, social media, demand gen and digital marketing so you’ll get plenty of exposure to other disciplines. Other members of the team will include marketing strategists, content developers and demand gen specialists. We're not split into a classic agency structure with account management or creatives. Everyone works directly with our clients and well. we're all creative.

We expect you to have a proven track record of leading successful paid media campaigns. These typically run on Google Ads, Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook, with other networks where required. Experience in emerging ad platforms such as Quora, TikTok, etc. is a bonus. The role will include managing a portfolio of clients, developing paid media campaign strategies, participating in new business, defining and implementing best practices, performing comprehensive analysis, and handling day-to-day implementation. This includes auditing client accounts, set up and configuration, paid media planning and sequencing, conducting keyword research, ad copy and creative development, implementation and optimization of the programs, CRO, improving landing page performance, and reporting. Of course, this must all operate efficiently, within budget and be measured and evaluated according to industry best practice.

Responsibilities

Client management -- work directly with clients on a daily basis advising on strategy, implementation, status and performance of search programs.

Agency -- involved in new business prospecting and pitching; team management and collaboration; developing paid media methodologies; Firebrand ambassador.

Audits -- research client and competitor sites for performance and optimization potential as a basis for program recommendations.

Configuration -- set up of network ad accounts to ensure correct audience targeting, ad structure and conversion event tracking through Google Analytics, Tag Manager, Google Ads and into CRM systems (Salesforce, Marketo, HubSpot).

Keyword Research -- Expert skills with keyword tools for use in SEM and development of keyword distribution sheet mapped to recommended site architecture and conversion opportunities.

Digital Advertising Strategy -- ability to understand technical products quickly and to strategize, develop and execute ad campaigns from ideation to iteration. Emphasis on Google Ads with understanding of paid social platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter).

Advertising Technology -- solid understanding of digital advertising ecosystems and how they actually work to serve ads to intended targets to be able to properly optimize campaigns in challenging vertical markets.

Search and Display Ad Copywriting -- write succinct, technical and emotional search and display ad copy that aligns with user targeting and contains specific targeted keywords. Manage large portfolio of search and display ads and conduct A/B tests to optimize for best performing ads.

CRO -- Ability to analyze land
