The Injection Molding Process Technician will support molding in safely setting molds to produce quality parts on time to our customer.
- Setup and monitor operations of molds and the processing of plastics parts to meet customer requirements.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
- Pull molds from the machine and set the new molds safely using overhead cranes
- Perform job changeover by removing and storing tools and auxiliary equipment to prepare machines for next production run.
- Ensure that the correct mold and materials are being used
- Make all necessary hydraulic, water and electrical connections
- Start up the machine and to ensure that the parts are inspected
- Make needed process adjustments to get the parts to proper specifications
- Fill out the proper paperwork for the previous mold and for the new mold
- Record the latest process settings
- Keep machines running during the shift, by trouble shooting problems as they arise
- Communicate any work that needs to be done with the proper department
- Responsible for material movement, both raw and finished product
- Investigate malfunction of machines, equipment, and processes and take appropriate corrective action
- Implement and/or assist with improvements in the operation of injection presses, material handling, part containment and tooling
Requirements
- Follow Safety Rules and Procedures: Company Safety Policy, PPE Policy, Hazardous Material Policy, Blood Born Pathogen Policy, (Complete Safety Review during orientation).
- Work overtime if needed to meet production orders.
- Immediately report safety issues.
- Maintain and follow 6S Principles
Qualifications:
- Minimum High School Degree
- Associate degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school, preferred
- 3 to 4-year minimum related experience; preferable Injection Molding Facility
- Prior experience in Injection Molding and Plastics Processing
- Capable of physical mobility including walking, sitting, bending, twisting, standing, pushing, pulling and lifting (up to 50 pounds periodically).Capable of visual acuity to include distinguishing color variation and detecting defects.
- Able to work safely in a production environment
- Able to operate injection molding machines, robots, fork lift and overhead crane
- Problem solving skills
- Technically and mechanically inclined
- Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic systems and fluid power
- Oral Communication Skills amp; Written Communication Skills amp; Reading Skills amp; Math Skill
- Other duties as assigned
