About Carma

Carma Project is a mission-driven company committed to protecting human life by proactively notifying vehicle owners of dangerous automotive recalls through an innovative technology platform. Learn more at www.carmaproject.com.

About the role

You’ll be joining in the midst of a massive expansion of one of the most innovative programs the automotive industry has ever seen. You will help to identify vehicles that are affected by potentially life-threatening automotive recalls, and play a crucial role in notifying vehicle owners that they could be at serious risk of death or injury. You will do this by acting as a Driver in one of our Automotive Safety Team vehicles.

We are growing fast, and are hiring Safety Ambassadors for weekend shifts in West Covina. While this is a temporary position for a specific project, there is a strong potential for long-term growth within this quickly-accelerating company for the right individuals.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Drive the Carma Automotive Safety Team vehicle through designated areas and neighborhoods in the LA area.
  • Participate in local community outreach events and canvassing activities, checking vehicles for open recalls.
  • Communicate the urgency of the recall to vehicle owners by either leaving a safety recall notice on the vehicle, or by educating a vehicle owner through (masked) face-to-face interactions.
  • Test new equipment/technology as needed within the vehicle
  • Provide a daily debrief on field activities back to the Carma team, and note any insights or actionable items.
  • Inspect Carma Automotive Safety Team vehicle daily and update software application as needed.
  • Adhere to strict safety and quality standards on and off the road.
  • Ensure Carma Automotive Safety Team vehicle is clean, fueled, and in good operating condition at all times.
  • Other duties, including occasional overtime, as needed.

Requirements

  • A strong desire to work at a mission-driven company.
  • Excitement and energy to be a part of building and expanding a brand new program.
  • Flexible availability, weekend hours will be required
  • High-standards, and a respect for the continuous improvement process.
  • Strong ability to operate and learn new technologies.
  • Exceptional professionalism and communication skills.
  • Incredible attention to detail.
  • An inquisitive nature, you enjoy activities that require both a creative and strategic approach.
  • A team-first mentality, with a desire to follow a pre-determined process and the ability to improvise as necessary.
  • A current driver's license with a clean driving record (last three years), and can pass a background/drug test.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift 50 lbs.
  • Bilingual (native-proficiency) is a strong plus!
  • Entrepreneurial mind-set.

Benefits

Pay: Hourly. $20/hour base wage
Bonus: Performance-based bonus with no cap. Expected to add $2.5-7/hour on top of base pay.

Travel opportunities: High-performing Safety Ambassadors may be given the opportunity to train new SAs in new markets across the country.

Car, fuel, and operating expenses are all covered by the company, which provides the vehicle that Safety Ambassadors use while working.
