Job Description

Board Of Innovation is expanding and is looking to bring on board a Business Development Director to drive business growth in North America.

We started our US office in 2019 and we've organically grown from a 4-person team to a 20 person team in two years. While we mainly work remotely these days we are a closely-knit team and we're looking for someone who thrives in our culture. If the following statements resonate with you please keep on reading!

In the role of a Business Development Director, you will build out a repeatable and scalable sales process and manage, coach and grow a team of (2) sr. business development managers. You will work very closely with our Managing Director for the Americas (NY) and global growth/marketing team.


Consider this as a starting point of your role:

Lead our business development team in North America

  • Own the primary accountability of achieving the (+10M) sales targets of Board of Innovation across North America
  • Own sales reporting (KPIs) and target management for the new business team (2) and create a predictable, metrics-driven sales organization.
  • Coach the new business team in achieving their sales and growth objectives.
  • Structure and build the sales team as we grow (outbound specialists, account mgrs, new business developers,.)
  • Create a predictable sales pipeline by building a strong outbound sales capability
  • Build ambitious growth strategies with the US and global management team
  • You are part of the North American leadership team and work with the global growth team on marketing amp; sales alignment in North America.
  • Support Principal Consultants in client relationship management

Close new long term client partnerships in North America

  • Identify, create and close large new client contracts (deal size +500K-1.5M) (A to Z)
  • Responsible for individual sales targets and overall team performance.
  • Ensure a consistent inflow of large opportunities (i.e. RFPs) and ensure conversion that leads into new collaborations.
  • Support team in creating amp; presenting compelling proposals with team members.
  • Drive the creation of sales materials to drive North American sales (proposals, checklists, tools,..)

Requirements

We would need you to have:

  • A proven track record of achieving (+10 M USD annual) sales targets in strategy / innovation consulting / professional services in North America (no product sales!)
  • Experience in building, leading, managing amp; coaching a sales team
  • Native English - other languages are a bonus!

It would be nice if you have:

  • A strong interest in growth strategies and business design for Fortune 500 companies
  • A deep understanding of the concerns a business executive may have, and you can navigate easily through corporate structures
  • Prior experience in management consulting
  • A Master degree in business or an MBA
