Emplicity, a well-established and premier PEO (Professional Employer Organization) is looking for a Senior Payroll Tax Accountant/Analyst. The person will be in-charge of managing payroll tax compliance including tax payments and returns with multi-state filings for the company’s client base. This is a fully remote position. Hours are flexible with some PST deadlines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage timely and accurate tax payments and tax filings for payroll taxes on a daily, monthly, and quarterly basis.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state guidelines and resolve any compliance issues through research and correspondence with taxing authorities
- Understands technical tax issues and applies Internal Revenue Code and tax regulations to client situations
- Work with the payroll group in setting up new clients amp; related tax balances.
- Keep abreast of existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; and advising management on needed actions to ensure compliance
- Reconcile tax liability to general ledger accounts
- Manage PEO license registration with various states
- Register for new states as needed
- Reconcile year-end W2s and tax adjustments as needed.
- Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications;
Requirements
- 4 year college degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 2 years of payroll management experience in PEO or Payroll Service Bureau industry required
- Prism HR and Master Tax experience a plus but not required
Excellent excel skills - Good communication skills
- Ability to organize work and projects, prioritize and meet deadlines. Ability to complete work in an efficient and accurate manner.
