We are continuing to impact the ever-changing space of technology. To support our vision in driving technological advances, we are seeking a Database Administrator to design, implement and maintain databases and oversee performance. This candidate will need to analyze table storage parameters and file system layout and size to ensure maximum performance. They will need to have the ability to develop utilities and programs to assist with task automation, data manipulation, migration, and integration, as well as monitor automated tasks.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist in creating physical database structures based on physical design for development, test, and production environments.
  • Assist in design, development and maintenance of data warehouse architecture to meet business analysis and reporting needs
  • Assist in analysis, design and implementation of migrations of data from legacy/acquired systems as required.
  • Performs routine maintenance, including upgrades and patches.
  • Performs daily data back-up and recovery as needed.
  • Generates and delivers complex reports for both technical and business teams and validating results with business representatives
  • Partners with engineers to configure servers for DBMS product installation and small database creation.
  • Provides support for assigned databases to include investigating and troubleshooting problems.
  • Configures and maintains product software and application servers.
  • Monitors and adjusts database parameters for better performance.
  • Assists application teams with tuning of SQL statements and Stored Procedures.
  • Demonstrates skill in data analysis techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information and inconsistencies/anomalies in more complex research/data.
  • Nature of work requires increasing independence; receives guidance only on unusual, complex problems or issues.
  • May provide general guidance/direction to or train professional personnel.



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Design, implementation and administration knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server from 2012 and up.
  • Prior experience with data manipulation, translation, extraction, and migrations
  • Strong experience with SQL Server Clustering , Mirroring , Log Shipping, Always ON.
  • Database management experience in designing, developing, and modifying relational and multidimensional structures in an enterprise environment
  • Troubleshooting, performance tuning and PowerShell/automation and SQL coding
  • Administration, design and implementation knowledge of SSIS, SSAS and SSRS.
  • Experience utilizing DBAmp, PowerQuery, SSRS, PowerBI
  • Must be hands-on, technically adept DBA, capable of performing required DB tasks.

  • Knowledge of IT security best practices
  • Experience with a variety of computer information systems
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to explain complex ideas in simple terms
  • Solid multitasking and communication abilities
