Consultancy Summary

The MusicianShip uses music to alter the life trajectory of youth, thereby creating a more vibrant, educated, empowered, and well-intentioned world. Our Summer series offers a range of programs for our students to get involved with to further develop them as musicians and young men and women in our society. These programs include marching band, choir, music business, and music media.

The Site Coordinator- Summer will be responsible for the programmatic success of all the disciplines offered in The MusicianShip Summer Program, ensuring seamless team management, team development, program delivery, quality control, and evaluation. The Site Coordinator- Summer will manage the consulting Program Managers and Instructors for the programensuring that programmatic deliverables are met at appropriate timelines and serving as a resource for all staff. The Site Coordinator- Summer will serve as a key external face of The MusicianShip in the community when applicable. The Site Coordinator- Summer will be expected to facilitate smooth collaboration between each of The MusicianShip Summer Program disciplines and serve as the point of contact for the All-City Programs Coordinator as it pertains to Dianne’s Recital needs.

The successful candidate would have demonstrated experience facilitating and organizing programs that provide educational and enrichment activities for youth as well as the ability to work independently with minimal to no supervision.


The Site Coordinator- Summer performs a wide range of duties including, but not limited to, the following:

Planning

  • Oversee the delivery of the overall program and its activities in accordance with the mission and the goals of the organization
  • With the support of the Director of Youth Programs and All-City Programs Coordinator, develop new initiatives to support the strategic direction of the program
  • With the support of the Director of Youth Programs and All-City Programs Coordinator, develop and implement long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcome of the program
  • Attend DOES and MusicianShip mandated training and events
  • Attend regular meetings with the All-City Programs Coordinator, Program Managers, and Instructor team

Organizing

  • Ensure that program activities operate within the policies and procedures of the organization
  • Ensure that program activities comply with all relevant legislation and professional standards
  • Enforce class schedules as determined by the All-City Programs Coordinator
  • Ensure the yearly theme of Dianne’s recital is cohesively represented between all MusicianShip Summer Program disciplines

Supervisory Role

  • Provide support to the Administrative Coordinator to ensure all staff members complete orientation and appropriate training in accordance with organizational standards
  • Provide direction, input, and feedback to promote staff efficiency and effectiveness
  • Communicate with clients and other stakeholders to gain community support for the Program and to solicit input to improve the Program
  • Work with Program Managers and Instructors to ensure the effective and efficient program delivery
  • Coordinate the delivery of services across different program activities to deliver comprehensive programming to enhance the participant experience
  • Attend virtual classes to assess program efficacy and review virtual platform content
  • Manage student participant behavior challenges in partnership with Program Managers and All-City Programs Coordinator

Program Funding and Reporting

  • Identify and evaluate the risks associated with program activities and take appropriate action to control the risks
  • Monitor the program activities on a regular basis and provide information on these activities to the Director of Youth Programs for grant compliance

Requirements

Work Environment and Operations

The MusicianShip operates virtually without a central office. Programs during Summer 2021 will be occurring virtually, so all staff responsibilities will be virtual. This flexible position requires up to 25 hours per week with availability to work some evenings and weekends (specifically for attending training and performances).

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in youth development
  • Strong communication skills

  • College degree preferred
