Wowza Media Systems seeks a Technical Writing Manager to lead our Product Content team. The role is responsible for managing a talented team of technical writers as well as the strategy and effectiveness of Wowza product documentation. As part of the Product leadership team, you’ll set the vision and drive execution for best-in-class product content that enables our customers to achieve their streaming goals.
What you'll do:
Lead a team of technical writers to produce API and in-product, and other product documentation with a consistent voice and tone
Coach, mentor, and support the Product Content team
Manage documentation development process, content requirements, and cross-team dependencies to ensure successful execution toward quarterly roadmaps
Work with Product leadership to define priorities, goals, and KPIs on an annual and quarterly basis
Engage cross-functionally with Customer Support, Marketing, and Customer Success to meet customers’ documentation needs
Execute toward the future of Wowza product content, including defining information architecture and selecting a content management system that supports the architecture.
Requirements:
BA in Technical Writing, English or similar; BS in Engineering, Computer Science
5+ years of technical writing experience
Demonstrated leadership and people management skills, ideally including leading remote teams
Demonstrated experience leading information architecture projects
Experience leading strategic, cross-functional team initiatives
Experience in an Agile development environment
Desired Experience:
Experience developing and establishing content metrics and KPIs
Experience migrating to new documentation tools, specifically content management systems
Compensation and Benefits
Salary: $110,000 - $115,000
