What You Will Do
We are currently seeking a VMWare Architect to join our team.
VMWare Architect on CDCs initiative to accelerate cloud adoption and operate mission-critical data center through government contractor. Expertise in providing solutions to provide operate and manage Private (VMWare) cloud services.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver Private (VMWare) cloud architecture solutions to successfully meet the strategic needs of the company and assist in modernizing efforts by planning
- Offer guidance in application migration from the on-prem data center to Private (VMWare) Cloud with related services, including HCX Hybrid Cloud Extension.
- Understanding of Agile development, SCRUM concepts
- Experience with CI/CD concepts and toolset (i.e. Jenkins, Bitbucket toolset)
- Translate organizational level business requirements and use cases into architectural capabilities verified to meet the requirements
- Design solution-independent architecture models that map business services to cloud application stacks
- Continuously manage, monitor, and update architecture models as business needs evolve and additional cloud services become available
- Assist product owners, solution architects, and application architects in designing scalable, highly available, secure, cost-effective solutions that leverage cloud services
- Define and document cloud solution architecture(s) including technical designs and diagrams.
- Assist product owners, solution architects, and application architects in designing scalable, highly available, secure, cost-effective solutions that leverage cloud services
- Build Private (VMWare) cloud with related services
Requirements
Who You Are
Technical Knowledge:
- Expert level in Infrastructure amp; Application architecting in Private (VMWare) Cloud including vSphere, vCenter, vRealize, NSX, HCX, vSAN, Site Recovery Manager.
- Has strong experience in migration from an on-prem data center to VMWare Private Cloud with related VMWare tools and migration tools.
- Familiar Hybrid Cloud and related technology and be able to support connection with GCP, Azure and AWS cloud in Hybrid Cloud
- Very familiar Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) Standards.
- Expert in VMWare Private Cloud cost model, tools, and services.
- Deliver solutions that can be automated/orchestrated using various netops/devops/automation technologies such as Ansible, Python, Terraform, Git/GitLab, Puppet, Jenkins, etc
Requirements: Architect Certification from VMWare
- 5 years' experience designing, executing, and supporting Private (VMWare) cloud with hands on experience.
- 5 years’ experience in migration from on-prem data center to VMWare Private Cloud with related VMWare tools and migration tools.
- Positive attitude and a strong commitment to delivering quality work.
- Excellent knowledge of cloud technologies and hybrid cloud service.
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal) to properly articulate complicated cloud reports to management and other IT development partners
