Job Description
Overline is a blockchain protocol that enables applications built for truly decentralized finance (DeFi), including Overline’s custom, peer-to-peer exchange platform the Interchange. Overline connects disparate blockchains, like Bitcoin and Ethereum, into a unified multichain, capable of interoperability and cross-chain communication, all powered by a mineable network and not centralized validators, APIs, or oracles. Front End Engineering Interns at Overline will be working for 15-30 hours per week on critical projects to support the core, customer-facing products in the Overline ecosystem, including the Interchange.
Responsibilities
- Daily contribute with clean, well maintainable code
- Understand and contribute to the architecture of the project
- Mind the higher purpose of the operation and be able to make short term sacrifices for the greater good (note: we iterate fast and we learned the hard way that over-designing kills productivity)
- Embrace the community
Requirements
- Be willing to dive into and learn new technologies and paradigms quickly
- Basic understanding of simple cryptographic primitives, their implementation and usage
- Basic understanding blockchain technology
- Basic understanding of trading
- Basic understanding of predictive modeling
- Experience in React, HTML, CSS, JS
- Experience in any dynamic language (Ruby, Python, JavaScript.)
- Experience with software testing
Projects You’ll Be Working On
- Predictive Models - Find data sources and backtest to predict market movements
- Market Makers / Trading Bots - Programmatically discover arbitrage opportunities and execute on them
- Core Protocol Upgrades - Optimize queries, design financial instruments
- Data Feed APIs - Create APIs that allow users to interact with the underlying blockchain in unique ways
- UI/UX Upgrades - Design and Upgrade Desktop/Mobile Wallets/Explorers/Exchanges
