Position Description:
Fairstead is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform routine and extensive maintenance of the property’s exterior and interior. The Maintenance Technician will conduct preventative property maintenance and repair mechanical systems and equipment as needed. This position is responsible for maintaining clean and hygienic conditions of the Fairstead property’s premises and facilities.
Requirements
- Diagnose and solve maintenance issues in the apartment homes, exterior and common areas ranging from plumbing, electrical, general carpentry, HVAC, and appliances
- Complete service requests within 24 hours
- Respond to 24- hour emergency maintenance calls; address all emergency situations promptly
- Prepare apartments for new residents
- Perform daily maintenance of property grounds to enhance curb appeal
- Ensure clean and hygienic living conditions for residents
- Ensure all common areas are clean and presentable
- Perform casual labor, such as lifting/moving heavy items as directed by Maintenance Manager or Property Manager and follow safety procedures.
- Routinely inspect building mechanical systems/ equipment to ensure proper performance and functionality.
- Monitor and adjust controls that regulate building systems, such as air conditioning, boilers, etc.
- Observe all State, Federal, and Fairstead safety standards while performing tasks in order to maintain a safe work environment.
- Properly utilize new equipment and follow safety procedures before using all equipment.
- Assist in maintaining records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
- Report to the Maintenance Manager for all tasks and any problems
- Additional projects and duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager and Property Manager.
