SUMMARY

Generation Bio seeks an enthusiastic and highly motivated Scientist to join the Process Research team to work on developing and improving downstream processes. The successful candidate will work in a multi-disciplinary team to assist in developing and implementing innovative downstream processes. Candidates with proven downstream process development experience will be highly valued, and curiosity and adaptability are required. This will be a key role in a dynamic, innovative team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary responsibilities for this role include:

  • Directly assist in the planning and execution of laboratory experiments to develop downstream process for the purification of closed ended DNAs
  • Execute experiments and collaborate efforts related to the development of downstream process steps including cell lysis, depth filtration, TFF, and chromatography steps
  • Analyze process intermediates and final samples from the experiments
  • Keep good records and updated electronic notebook for all executed experiments.
  • Prepare, analyze, and present data internally to cross functional teams.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS in Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Biotechnology, or related discipline
  • Experience with downstream techniques such as depth filtration, FPLC and TFF
  • Attention to detail and critical thinking
  • Strong collaboration and team working skills
  • Knowledge of cGMP, FDA and USP guidelines practices is a plus.
