At LVIS, our objective is to innovate how neurological diseases are diagnosed and treated through advanced brain network analysis tools. LVIS is a lean team of science researchers, clinical researchers, engineers, and designers from a variety of impressive backgrounds.

The design team was initiated in 2020 and has focused on building the foundation for LVIS’ first of many planned products. As the UX/UI Design Lead, you will be hands-on as an individual contributor while overseeing design deliverables and processes. LVIS is quickly growing and is looking for a leader to grow the design team. As a seasoned designer, you will leverage strategic and user-focused thinking to create intuitive interfaces that directly solve the needs of Physicians and healthcare professionals. We are looking for a designer who can think deeply about problems, drive key product strategy, thrive in ambiguity and complexity, and is excited to join a team with ambitious goals for the future of neuro-imaging.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Work cross-functionally with clinical research, science, and engineering teams to facilitate design discussions and give feedback in planning and product channels.
  • Demonstrate a high level of creative craftsmanship, translating strategies, theories and design principles into inspiring concepts and successful executions.
  • Engage with Leadership at a strategic level to frame what we need to build and how to get there.
  • Partner with engineering to ensure high-quality implementation.
  • Collaborate with clinical researchers to initiate, define, and conduct user research to truly understand our customers and users’ goals and needs
  • Iteratively integrate user feedback and business requirements to improve the user experience.
  • Drive planning and executing usability testing to validate design to meet FDA requirements.
  • Directly contribute to materials and artifacts necessary for FDA submissions.
  • Frequently solicit feedback from your peers, particularly Leads.
  • Represent design when communicating the user experience at various stages with user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes.
  • Evolved the design system beyond its initial development and implementation stages
  • Partner with engineering to ensure high-quality implementation of design deliverables.
  • Coordinate and integrate the work of fellow designers for a seamless and unified experience.
  • Interview new product designers and actively advise on our design hiring process.


Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in an individual contributor role, on a Product Design team with heavy emphasis on solid human-centered design methods
  • 1+ years of experience as a Lead Designer, Manager or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Design, or a related field of study.
  • An outstanding portfolio, showcasing a foundation in Interaction, User Research, and Ideation.
  • Hands-on experience creating wireframes, prototypes, storyboards, user flows, etc.
  • High level of initiative and a make it work ethos to successfully bring a product design from conception to launch with minimal supervision.
  • A proven record building B2B, Enterprise and/or cloud service commercial products.
  • Experience working iteratively within a lean team in a dynamic, rapid growth environment.
  • High familiarity with driving strategy and developing product rationale alongside Leadership.
  • Expert familiarity and use of Adobe Creative Suite, Figma and Sketch.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with multi-functional and multi-disciplined teams.
