Job Description

The Director of Marketing will oversee the digital marketing and communications strategies for corporate clients, prospects, and members. This position will work closely with executive leadership to ensure that messaging across all key stakeholder audiences is consistent, relevant, and strategically positioned for the marketplace. The primary skills for the role include excellent creative and innovation skills, a strategic marketing and selling mindset, strong problem-solving abilities, ability to leverage digital technologies, and excellent communication and presentations. This is also leadership role requiring strong team development and management, vendor management, organization and project skills.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Oversee marketing and communications strategy for members and corporate clients
  • Manage team responsible for fulfillment of marketing and communications programs
  • Advise and develop strategic communications and marketing strategies for client stakeholders, interfacing directly with the clients when necessary
  • Oversee digital marketing strategy development and implementation
  • Inform leadership of marketing capabilities and trends and how best to leverage marketing to align with and increase sales.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors including creative agencies
  • Develop thought leadership content for Employer Direct Healthcare brand
  • Effectively coach account team on marketing and communications capabilities
  • Report on marketing program performance to executive leadership
  • Stay up to date on latest marketing and industry trends


  • Bachelor’s degree or higher required
  • 7-10+ years of experience working in the healthcare industry
  • 7- 10+ years of experience working in marketing, communications, business development, and/or corporate strategy
  • Ability to communicate effectively in speech, writing and in executive presentations
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to analyze problems and create a solution
  • Startup experience preferred
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office products
  • Knowledge of CRM (SFDC preferred)
  • Knowledge of Adobe Suite
  • No certifications or licenses required
