Director - Global Supply Chain

We are looking for a dynamic leader to effectively manage the global supply chain which encompasses procurement, managing our contract manufacturing partners, production planning, inventory management, as well as managing product inventory levels at the company’s 3PL partners (3rd party logistics). This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

Responsibilities

  • Manage contract manufacturers and global supply chain to assure the timely production of medical grade wearable products.
  • Utilize Sales forecasts provided by commercial team to effectively balance inventory levels between growing product demand and managing cash flow and inventory costs.
  • Mange risks associated with supply chain disruptions and uncertain lead times
  • Lead and develop strategies for product sourcing and development, supplier negotiations, and effective inventory management
  • Track and manage inventory of finished product as well as various components
  • Manage documentation and records for compliance with various regulations around medical device inventory, supply and distribution management
  • Negotiate supply and quality agreements to assure quality, service and price stability.
  • Identify and implement cost saving measures to contribute to profit optimization.
  • Plan and manage shipping, handling, and distribution, including use of 3PL fulfillment centers, to optimize transaction costs while providing excellent customer service.
  • Lead and develop a productive and engaged team through effective coaching, priority setting, performance management, and talent
  • Ensure compliance and governance by establishing, monitoring and achieving KPIs and performance measures.
  • Provide regular reports to senior leadership on the status of key supplier initiatives and innovation
  • Develop forecasting, inventory management and supplier capacity management to ensure optimum and cost-effective product availability
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance to qualify suppliers and contract manufacturers.
  • Partner with Marketing on product packaging and labeling projects.
  • Collaborate with other senior managers across all disciplines to achieve growth targets.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or greater.
  • A minimum of 10 years related experience in Supply Chain management with an emphasis in the medical devices or wearables. Knowledge of FDA regulations and compliance requirements for medical devices is a plus.
  • An excellent understanding of global regulatory requirements around medical device management
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience at a Director or higher level exhibiting successful team leadership and management skills.
  • A track record of successful cost reduction initiatives.
  • Excellent negotiating skills.
  • Works well in teams; both as a team leader and as a team player.
