Job Description

Do you walk into a room and think to yourself, "I can't wait to be best friends with that dog over there"?

Are you currently a dog walker who loves their job, but wishes that the pay was better?

Do you pass each shift, burning with jealousy as you watch your customers enjoy the freedom to walk around in the fresh air?

If so, we have the perfect job for you.

We are a rapidly expanding Dog Services company in the Chicago area that believes in so much more than just dog walking. We are seeking energetic, reliable, self-motivated, and friendly doggy playtime expert. We've got a growing base of customers and we're looking for team members who are passionate about giving our four-legged friends the best life they can. We hope to find someone who really loves working with dogs, is knowledgeable about certain aspects of dog behavior (or is willing to learn!), and have prior first-hand experiences as a dog owner or work experience in this field. This is a part-time job with a great opportunity for growth! It would be the perfect fit for a barista, waitress, or stay-at-home parent looking to earn some extra income.

The applicant should be comfortable walking up to four dogs at a time.

We are currently looking for a whistler who can work in LAKEVIEW, LINCOLN PARK, BUCKTOWN, WICKER PARK, UPTOWN. Location will be assigned closer to the hire date and depending on customer routes. Will be only 1 of these (not all 3).

Initial availability required between 11:30 a.m. - 1:30pm, Monday - Friday, approximately 1 hour per day to start. The candidate can expect to begin work about 2 weeks after their initial phone interview.

This job is ideal for someone who is:

Dependable -- more reliable than spontaneous

Adaptable/flexible -- enjoys doing work that requires frequent shifts in direction

People-oriented -- enjoys interacting with people and working on group projects

Achievement-oriented -- enjoys taking on challenges, even if they might fail

Autonomous/Independent -- enjoys working with little direction

COVID-19 considerations:

Every Whistler can reimburse masks and hand sanitizer they need to use during their routes. All our customers are aware of the protocol and are encouraged to keep our Whistlers safe.

Requirements

  • Must be at least available, Monday - Friday, 11:30am - 1:30pm
  • Must have previous experience with dogs and ownership
  • Must be located in Chicago
  • Must have good communication skills to maintain good relationships with our customers
  • Access to a car would be a plus!
