The Senior Account Executive is responsible for strategically managing client account relationships, which includes account servicing, coverage negotiation, producing successful renewals, implementing new lines of coverage and identifying new business opportunities. These responsibilities require the exercise of discretion with respect to significant client matters and are directly related to the general business operations of the company and the company’s customers.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Manage client relationships and service client insurance needs
  • Communicate with clients on new business, applications, account marketing, coverage requests, audits, regulatory issues, and renewals, as well as implement additional lines of business with existing clients (cross-sell)
  • Demonstrate an advanced understanding of the various funding and distribution principles of stop loss, pharmacy benefit management, and life and disability programs
  • Lead client meetings and provide strategic guidance and financial performance information in conjunction with or independently from the Producer
  • Advise clients of any options to save costs and to secure quality coverage based on their specific needs; assist clients with open enrollment meetings, employee communications and provide assistance with processing enrollment/changes forms and documents
  • Initiate and follow-up with clients and carriers to resolve problems, provide coverage guidance and education, answer questions, and provide correspondence and reports as needed
  • Manage annual renewal process: prepare renewal presentation to include marketing analysis, strategic planning initiatives, contribution analysis, network analysis and benchmark study
  • Keep managers, executives and producers informed of significant developments on accounts

Requirements

  • 5 years of Group Benefits insurance brokerage experience managing large cases (500+ lives) is required
  • Valid Life, Accident and Health brokers’ license
  • Proficiency in agency management systems and benefits applications, preferably Benefit Point, HR360 and Zywave
  • Client contact and sales experience
  • In-depth knowledge and experience managing of large case fully insured and self-funded with RBP plans
  • Full working knowledge of ACA and other compliance regulations
